Alert Storm
Does anyone know what SQL table holds queued alerts. I had an instance where I needed to restart the Operations Manager server. After, I got flooded with alert text messages and emails. I was hoping that there was some table that I could clear out to lessen the amout of text messages my phone would get.

What you should do is disable the notification subscriptoin in the console UI and then re-enable after the restart with the option to not send the alerts that took place during the restart. See Tim McFaddens 'Subscription Tool' will do what you want. See http://www.scom2k7.com/subscription-tool/Pete Zerger, MVP-OpsMgr and SCE | http://www.systemcentercentral.com

Hi, I think you can put the management server to maintenance mode when rebooting it. Meanwhile, please refer to: SCOM: Automatically Starting Maintenance Mode When Servers are Rebooted for Patching http://operatingquadrant.com/2009/08/15/scom-automatically-starting-maintenance-mode-when-servers-are-rebooted-for-patching/ Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Meanwhile, regarding how to troubleshoot alert storm issue, please also refer to: Troubleshooting Alert Storms in Operations Manager 2007 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/troubleshooting-alert-storms-in-operations-manager-2007.aspx Hope this helps. Be very carefull with placing the RMS into maintenance mode! Normally I would not do that. Pete's answer will work the best.Bob Cornelissen - BICTT (My BICTT Blog)
