Hi, Please try discovering this computer with the Discovery Wizard and see how it works; if an error appeared, please let us know: How to Discover and Prepare Objects for Management http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff730796.aspx If the computer still could not be discovered, please also check your Firewall settings How to Change Windows Firewall Exceptions for System Center Essentials 2007 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/how-to-change-windows-firewall-exceptions-for-system-center-essentials-2007.aspx In addition, please also check the Event Log ad see if there are any related errors. When discovering these Windows 7 and Windows XP computers on the SCE2007, it won't show in the list and no error message. BUT when I go to the ADMINISTRATION pane, I see Windows 7 coputer listed in the Agent Managed and the status is not monitored. Also when I go the local comouter itself I see under the C:\Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\Certificates, i see both the certificates installed here. (I pushed the agent manually to each computer) Most of these computrs are imaged from the imaged server within our environment called RISC. I followed this link below, which you have sent: How to Discover and Prepare Objects for Management http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff730796.aspx We do have an Image server called RISC. So now my question is do I follow these steps provided in the link on the imager server or SCE2007? What about the computer which already have an images installed and still not showing in the SCE2007? I am very confuse, please help....Thanks Deep Kumar

Hi, Since the computers are deployed with image, please check the SUSClient ID referring to: A Windows 2000-based, Windows Server 2003-based, or Windows XP-based computer that was set up by using a Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, or Windows XP image does not appear in the WSUS console http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903262 Resolving the duplicate SUSClientID issue, or “Why don’t all my clients show up in the WSUS console?” http://blogs.technet.com/sus/archive/2009/05/05/resolving-the-duplicate-susclientid-issue-or-why-don-t-all-my-clients-show-up-in-the-wsus-console.aspx Also check SPN: OpsMgr 2007: Agents stuck in Pending Management with Event ID 21016 http://blogs.technet.com/b/smsandmom/archive/2008/03/13/opsmgr-2007-agents-stuck-in-pending-management-with-event-id-21016.aspx In addition, regarding the issue that the agent is showing “Not Monitored”, please also refer to the following posts: Fixing troubled agents http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2009/10/01/fixing-troubled-agents.aspx Getting headaches trying to figure out why you are seeing the 'Not Monitored' state for Management Servers or Agents? http://blogs.technet.com/b/momteam/archive/2008/03/10/getting-headaches-trying-to-figure-out-why-you-are-seeing-the-not-monitored-state-for-management-servers-or-agents.aspx Hope this helps. Hi, You can try the methods on the problematic computers. At this time, I would like to know the following: 1. How many Windows 7 computers you have? How many of them are deployed with image? How many of them could not be discovered? 2. The latest status of the issue after performing the methods of my last reply. Meanwhile, for the issue that the computers which could not be discovered, please check it referring to the following posts: How does Computer Discovery Work in OpsMgr 2007? http://blogs.technet.com/b/momteam/archive/2007/12/10/how-does-computer-discovery-work-in-opsmgr-2007.aspx Agent discovery and push troubleshooting in OpsMgr 2007 http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2007/12/12/agent-discovery-and-push-troubleshooting-in-opsmgr-2007.aspx Thanks. I performed the registry subkeys on the computer and when I ran the discovery on the SCE2007 it show the PC in the list and it asked me to install agent and I clicked on YES. But the PC is still not showing in the SCE2007, under computer pane. I will do the two steps and will wait for your answer. Thanks for your help.Deep Kumar

Hi, Thank you for your update and clarification. I also would like to confirm if you have performed all my previous suggestions. If not, please try them one by one and let me know the results. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to post back here. Please check the following: 1. Are all the Windows 7 computers are listed in “Administration – Device Management – Agent Managed”? 2. Go to the Windows computer which has not be displayed and see if the agent has been installed successfully; how about reinstalling the agent manually? After researching, I would like to suggest you also try the following: 1. For the computers which are in error Management Status, please go to the Health Explorer to have a check: Health Explorer http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff730493.aspx 2. Ensure the latest version of the management pack “Windows Client 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7 Operating System Management Pack for Operations Manager 2007” has been imported. 3. For the computers which are still not showing in the console, please also try the methods in the following post and see how it works: EBS, SCE, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 http://blogs.technet.com/b/essentialbusinessserver/archive/2009/10/30/ebs-sce-windows-server-2008-r2-and-windows-7.aspx If the issue persists, please also check the Event Log on both the server and the Windows 7 clients sides. If there are any related errors, please let us know the details. Thanks. I have performed all the previous steps but no help. Please check the following: 1. Are all the Windows 7 computers are listed in “Administration – Device Management – Agent Managed”? Out of 8 computers 7 are listed there and some have CRITICAL and some have Not Monitored and some have Healthy. 2. Go to the Windows computer which has not be displayed and see if the agent has been installed successfully; how about reinstalling the agent manually? I checked and the agent was installed but I still went back and installed manually and still no help. 1. For the computers which are in error Management Status, please go to the Health Explorer to have a check: Health Explorer http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff730493.aspx I get this error "Cannot initialize report. The request failed with HTTP status 401 : Unauthorized". 2. Ensure the latest version of the management pack “Windows Client 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7 Operating System Management Pack for Operations Manager 2007” has been imported. It is installed. 3. For the computers which are still not showing in the console, please also try the methods in the following post and see how it works: EBS, SCE, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 http://blogs.technet.com/b/essentialbusinessserver/archive/2009/10/30/ebs-sce-windows-server-2008-r2-and-windows-7.aspx I tried this above method but no help. We don;t have windows 7 64 bits. Just couple of months ago everything was working fine. Let me ask you a question: Does it matter if we have more then 25 servers and 500 clients computers are on SCE2007? Thanks for your great help and I really need to resolve this issue. Deep Kumar

Hi, Please try: 1. Restart the following services on the SCE server: OpsMgr Config Service OpsMgr Health Service OpsMgr SDK Service 2. Remove the Windows 7 computers which are not monitored from Agent Managed in the SCE Console and uninstall the agents on the Windows 7 computers which are not discovered and not monitored. Then, discover and push the agent to the computers again: How to Stop Managing a Computer http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff730637.aspx How to Discover and Prepare Objects for Management http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff730796.aspx In addition, please check the following: Support for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 in System Center Essentials 2007 SP1 http://blogs.technet.com/b/systemcenteressentials/archive/2009/11/06/support-for-windows-server-2008-r2-and-windows-7-in-system-center-essentials-2007-sp1.aspx If the issue persists, please check the Event Log on both the server and the clients sides; if there are any related errors, such as Event ID: 29106, please also us know the details. Hi, Please ensure you have applied Windows Server Update Services 3.0 Service Pack 2: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972455 Then, please try removing all the Windows 7 computers from the console, uninstalling the agents on the Windows 7 computers and pushing the agents to the Windows 7 computers via the console. At this time, please also try the methods in the following posts: Troubleshooting ‘Unknown’ software and update status, ‘Not yet contacted’ and lack of hardware and software inventory http://blogs.technet.com/b/systemcenteressentials/archive/2010/03/29/troubleshooting-unknown-software-and-update-status-not-yet-contacted-and-lack-of-hardware-and-software-inventory.aspx Windows 7 Client - Not Monitored http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/systemcenter/thread/d457f10f-93f2-40d9-a9e3-dd1165d62990 Windows 7 Clients Not Reporting http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/systemcenter/thread/e4cfe998-82f9-4b33-b24d-f6b8a36a9d60 Thanks. I have done all of this and still don;t know why after being pushed via SCE2007 and getting a successfully completed message, how come it's not showing in the computer pane? Why these computer are showing in the Managed Agent (Ofcourse Not Monitored). I am still very confuse that none of my XP and Windows 7 are functionally and the funny part of all of this is that just couple of month it was working fine with the same methods I used now. Very confused?????Deep Kumar
