After installation of KB3080353, Lync Mobile can't connect, Lync 2010 prompts for credentials for "retreiving response groups"

After installing KB3080353 on a Lync 2013 front end server, lync mobile clients cannot connect due to the event log entry shown below.

In addition, Lync 2010 clients are prompting users for credentials "to connect for retrieving response groups" but credentials are not accepted.  If you click cancel lync functions fine but it prompts users occasionally and if users do enter their credentials it will lock them out even when using valid credentials.

Lync 2013 doesn't experience the credential prompt issue.

Any ideas?

uninstalling KB3080353 and rebooting the front end servers resolved the issues.
