After Office Pro 2010 SP1, can no longer edit / open MS documents from a SharePoint (think work uses SP'03)
Ever since applying the MS Office Pro 2010 SP1, I can no longer open documents from sharepoint. They open up excel/word/ppoint but then get a "file can not be found" "wrong name" moved, etc error. One thing I do notice, is within the filename https://servername/directory/file%20name.doc that the %20 isn't resolved to spaces. Not sure if this is really causing the problem or not, but never noticed it not resolving it to spaces before...but then again, I've never seen this issue before. I tried undoing the SP1 patch, but still have the issue. I've also tried repairing my MS Pro Plus '10 both before and after SP1 without any luck. Really frustrating as I have to manually download files, edit them, then manually upload them again. Might as well be using a T-Room at this speed.

Please check if indeed your system is a SharePoint 2003 one (and if so, which - WSS 2.0 or SPS 2003). Thinking it is "SP 03" isn't enough we need to know otherwise we are wasting our time thinking about this question. Moderator P.S. Never post two questions in the same post. Start different threads. I have edited out the second question about IE9. SP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links): http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters

Hi, There is a similar question with yours .You can try change this setting for your IE : Open Tools/Internet Options/Connections/LAN Settings and uncheck "Automatically Detect Settings". For more information ,please refer to this site: Cannot open documents from SharePoint 2007 Server: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/officeappcompat/thread/c865a907-1fd7-4487-9127-cd023a9a511e/ Thanks, Entan Ming
