Advertisements don't show up in SCCM Console installed on Vista/XP
Hello, My client's SCCM admin has full rights to the SCCM console and its various functions. When he logs into the SCCM server, everything works great. However, he recently installed the SCCM console on his Vista laptop and when he moves about the console everything works except Advertisements. When he clicks on Advertisements, none of his advertisements show up in the console despite the fact that he has created several. SCCM Server is on Server 2008 SQL 2008 backend hosted on separate server Both servers have their Windows Firewall turned on, with an exception made for TCP port 1433 for SQL The SCCM server has the WMI exception turned on in the Windows Firewall, along with File and Printer Sharing We had the SCCM admin install the console onto another machine, running Windows XP, and it did not work there either. Another Admin logged in and received the same problem. He can log into the remote SCCM Console and create an advertisement, and it will disappear, but show up when he logs back into the SCCM server directly. User is part of an AD group that has been added to the Distributed COM AD group. SCCM 2007 was installed with the SP1 integrated media, then R2 was installed a few days later. Server was recently rebooted, this issue occurred before the reboot and is still occurring since the reboot. Any ideas of why this might be happening? Perhaps this is a bug in R2? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,Jesse

I'd like to add that when the user pulls up the remote SCCM console on his Vista machine, he can browse down to rights and see that he has full rights on all instance of Advertisements even though they don't propagate in the remote version of the SCCM console. Again, however, he can view the Advertisements fine if he logs into the SCCM server directly via RDP.Thanks,Jesse

Have you figured out a solution to this issue? I am currently experiencing this issue with the exact same setup. SQL 2008 and Server 2008. Recently upgraded console to R2.

You need a hotfix for your Admin Console installs:http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/skissinger/archive/2008/10/28/advertisements-do-not-enumerate-in-a-remote-configmgr-console.aspxStandardize. Simplify. Automate.

Installing hot-fix 955262 should resolve this issue. But I would recommend 969529(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969529/) as thissupercedes 955262.We had the same problem and we were able to resolve by installing 969529 (both on the primary site server as well as on the the computers installed with SCCM Admin Consoles).Regards,Keshav
