Advertisement status not updating
Hi We are running SCCM 2007 r3, and I have noticed that on the server the status of the advertisements are not being updated. For instance when deploying a OS image down to client machines the advertisements do not show up under operating system deployment, if on the rare occasion they do show up they do not update and our stuck at waiting or 0 % even when they are executing fine on the clients. How can I fix this issue? Thanks for any help in this matter.

Hi The task is running fine on the clients. The problem is on the server under operating system deployment the task reports as "waiting" even when it is executing fine on the client side. What exactly am I looking for in the smstslog? Thanks for any help in the issue. t

No they are not waiting for content the task sequence runs fine the issue is the advertisement status on the server always says wating and never updates from 0% but the task is running on the clients

Status messages are generated at the client and then sent to the server so I think that's what Peter is getting at in asking whether the status messages are waiting on the client or not. If you do a regular software deployment to a client (Adobe Reader for example) do you get Advertisement status back then?

Thanks Jeff, Peter I am sorry I didn't understand your question. I have not tried a software deployment yet, I am still working on the imaging conundrum. I can tell you when imaging an os the status doesn't update on the server.

Off hand I can't think of a simple reason you wouldn't be getting the status back. There are lines in your SMSTS.LOG that say "Sending status message" or things like that (just search on "Status". There is also a "StatusAgent.log" for the SCCM Client that you can check out.

Where does this "StatusAgent.log" reside on the server side or client side?

Client side. C:\Windows\System32\CCM\Logs (32-Bit OS) C:\Windows\SysWow64\CCM\Logs (64-Bit OS)
