Advertised OSD failing when ConfigMgr tries execute it.
Hi, I am busy running SCCM 2007 R3 in Native Mode, with my clients running the latest ConfigMgr 4.00.6487.2157 I have a capture image which has been setup with a task sequence and I am trying to deploy it out to Win7x86 machines. The clients receive the OSD advertisement but when it tries to execute it fails. from the SMSts.log file this is the error I receive. Any help will be much appreciated, (all package advertisements execute and install well, it's just a problem with OSD) <![LOG[==========[ TsProgressUI started in process 2932 ]==========]LOG]!><time="12:48:40.813+-60" date="07-20-2011" component="TsProgressUI" context="" type="1" thread="1868" file="winmain.cpp:327"> <![LOG[Registering COM classes]LOG]!><time="12:48:40.828+-60" date="07-20-2011" component="TsProgressUI" context="" type="1" thread="1868" file="winmain.cpp:185"> <![LOG[sbModulePath = C:\Windows\system32\CCM\TsProgressUI.exe]LOG]!><time="12:48:40.828+-60" date="07-20-2011" component="TsProgressUI" context="" type="1" thread="1868" file="tsprogressuiclass.cpp:623"> <![LOG[Shutdown complete.]LOG]!><time="12:48:40.875+-60" date="07-20-2011" component="TsProgressUI" context="" type="1" thread="1868" file="winmain.cpp:520"> <![LOG[Process completed with exit code 0]LOG]!><time="12:48:40.891+-60" date="07-20-2011" component="TSLauncher" context="" type="1" thread="2876" file="commandline.cpp:1102"> <![LOG[Successfully registered TS Progress UI.]LOG]!><time="12:48:40.891+-60" date="07-20-2011" component="TSLauncher" context="" type="1" thread="2876" file="utils.cpp:1922"> <![LOG[Volume C:\ has attributes 0x00000000]LOG]!><time="12:48:43.667+-60" date="07-20-2011" component="TSLauncher" context="" type="1" thread="2876" file="utils.cpp:289"> <![LOG[Failed to load virtual disk service. How are you initiating this TS? Where did you get the above log file from? How did you create the deployment TS?Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

Hi, The log file is from the client machine where I am deploying the OS to and it's the smsts.log file. please not there is already an OS installed on my client pc's, they not bare metal pc's. The I have a captured wim image which I have imported into the "Operating System Images" from there it's copied to my DP. I have then created a TS to install an existing image package (the one I imported) with a Windows 7 x86 boot image. Once all the details had been filled in I advertised it to a collection of Window 7 x86 pc's which I wanted to wipe and reinstall with the new OSD. I have just noticed that the OSD executes on my winXP x86 pc's but NOT on my win7 x86. I have tried a few things like turning off UAC, firewalls etc Any Ideas?
