Adjusting SCOM Alert times
I'm looking for a way to adjust SCOM Alert times...what I mean by this is basically telling SCOM to only alert the network group of a server not being able to be contacted between the hours of 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.. Between those hours we receive
a ton of other "critical alerts" such as logical disk free space, sql job failures, print spoolers turning off, etc. These are all important things but do not require us to receive a text message on our phones in the middle of the night for,
a simple email will due. We'd much rather be notified if a server turns off or is unreachable. It seems SCOM lumps all these alerts into one critical alert catergory...I'm trying to figure out a way to just get the heartbeat alert to text us and
have all the other alerts email between those specific times.

That'll work for general alerts...but what about specifying only certain critical alerts to notify you at certain times....any thoughts?

You can also set subscriptions (with their own schedules) against individual alerts assuming you are using OpsMgr 2007 R2 (SP1 wasn't as granular).
If you are looking to get OpsMgr to only generate alerts at certain times (e.g. main business hours) then that is a very different issue. You can really only use maintenance mode (which are targetted at objects rather than individual alerts \ monitors) or
start hacking some xml.
