Adding user collections via Powershell Automatically

HI all

We're migrating from novell ZCM to SCCM this year.

All looking really good and should be very simple. Just looking for a more automated way of creating user collections. We have a load of groups in AD that we have applications pointed to in ZCM so what I like to do is recreate these in SCCM. I've been able to create a few collections for this but there are over 300+++ of them. So a more automated way would be great.

any ideas how I can get the following to be done.

1. copy the OU structure from a certain OU and recreate in SCCM

2 Automatically recreate the groups in these OU's as collections with the same names in SCCM

3. Have the collections working so that they match the users in the AD groups.

I'm a complete novice to powershell but I'm will to learn and having something like this setup and understanding it would defiantly point me in the right direction.

I'm not necessarly expecting someone to do this for me but pointing in the right direction would be great

Thanks in advance

John

Keep in mind that in ConfigMgr 2012 you can't create sub collections, so your OU structure will mainly be a folder structure. The following links should get you started:
