Adding multiple pages library
We have a SharePoint site with the publishing features enabled. We have created a number of custom page layouts that are currently used in the Pages library created by the publishing feature.Different members of staff will be resposible for adding/editing each page layout. In order to secure this, I was planning on creating a different pages library for each type of page (e.g. one for internal announcement pages, one for internal vacancees pages). However, I cannot see any way of creating new pages libraries. Is this possible and if not, what is the best way of securing a pages library based on the page layout/content type. Thanks,Benretroviz

Hey Ben,The Pages library is a pretty fixed feature in the SharePoint world and I've heard many complaints about it. For you situation though, the best way to secure the page layouts is simply to have them all live inside Pages, but apply item level permissions to them. That way you can give Designer rights to only the people you wish for any given layout.Trigger item level permissions via the context drop down for a file in Pages and selecting "Edit Permissions". You'll then be on a page from where you can break permission inherritance and establish the customized permissions you require for the given file.I trust that answers your question...ThanksChttp://www.cjvandyk.com/blog
