Adding a custom button in list

Hello Friends,

We have different lists for different processes in our site, each to be accessed in a particular order. Now I wanted to insert a button in first list, say- "Request list", which can take me to any outstanding item, that is any process that needs to be completed.

How can I add such a button (without using Visual studio). Is it possible ?

Thank you !

Kind Regards

If you want to add a button in ribbon of the default list view of a list,Then you can just add a custom action button using sharepoint designer.

Hi,

Yes its possible to add using SharePoint designer or using JSOM in any list page i.e, All items, New form and Edit form.

Using SharePoint designer you can find separate page for each of this and if you edit this page you can insert Content Editor webpart and add your custom javascript / JQuery code achieve your requirement.

Please let us know which if you need any further details regarding this.
