If we constrain our peoplepicker to only pick users that are already in the site collection, how are new users added tot he site collection? Do we have to change the picker settings every time we need to add someone and then change them back?

There is a difference between people picker and Check name. 

You can still add people using check name 

So it doesn't really constrain the picker? If I have a client in one OU and another in a second OU and do not want them seeing or guessing each others users or groups, that would not be possible. I just need to type in the name of the group and resolve it.

EDIT: Maybe I'm working in a different kind of picker but this behavior isn't happening for me.

I also have the peoplepicker-searcadcustomfilter with a query. Is this completely ignored when search in the site collection only is set? It seems to be.

peoplepicker search OU powershell will restrict checkname as well. but you need to understand both

Hi Inderjeet. Thanks for your reply. When you say "Search OU command and search with in site collection are different commands" do you mean that they are mutually exclusive, meaning that one cancels out the other?
