Add user option is not available and site collection administrator account is not adding
I ran into an issue tonight with a My company MOSS 2007 install where other user was a Site Collection Administrator.
when I try to add another existing system account at site collection administrator.
the Error is :
"You need to be a site Collection Administrator to set this property"
I was orphaned from administering the site. I could get into Site Settings, I could get into Advanced Permissions, etc. but I could not modify anything – only the 'Actions' menu items existed. Although my account is in the owner group.
Kindly tell me the correct solution of this problem.
As well, if I attempted to add a new Site Collection Administrator, I would get this "You need to be a site collection administrator to set this property". Well duh, I knew that, but I was one… *sighBasim Alvi
