Add login on a internet facing subsite in MOSS 2007?
Hi!
There is probably a really simple answer to this that I should know about, but I need some hints in the right direction here...
We got a customer with SharePoint 2007 for internet sites (MOSS FIS) that has a subsite that they want to be accessible only through login. Which is the best method to achieve this?
(They need to keep it on the internet site due to a third party solution that they are using s moving it to an extranet site isn't a solution here.)
Kind regards
Jenny

I'm assuming they have already configured anonymous access for the rest of the site collection. If so then all they need to do is go to the subsite and remove the anonymous access settings for that subsite. Everything else in the site collection
will remain anonymous access, but when a user tries to hit that subsite they will be forced to login.Paul Stork SharePoint Server

Thank you for your reply!
Obviously that's the way to go, but is there anything I need to keep in mind when removing anonymous access for a site? I've heard that this is an unreversible step, that once you remove it, there may be problems enabling it again. I can't see why it wouldn't
be possible to just enabling it again, but I have to ask the question.

yes you can re-establish anonymous access after removing it. The only thing to be careful of would be that you remove it from any lists or libraries where its been applied specifically since they might not revert when you remove it from the site.Paul Stork SharePoint Server
