Add existing sharepoint web application to the new Sharepoint farm
Hi professionals: Currently, we got our own sharepoint intranet and sharepoint reporting server in NZ. Now, We want to have seperate sharepoint intranet and report site in Australia. I created a new farm based on a australia server. So how can I add the existing share point intranet and sharepoint report site to this new Australia sharepoint farm? Thanks in advanceDavid Chen

Hi David, If you want the data in both places you can use a content deployment job or some third party tool. The reporting site may cause issues with connections to databases and they may have to be reconfigured. If you just want to do a straight move, then you will have to back up the sites, copy them over, and restore them. Lots of options depending on what you want to do. Cheers, SharePointNinja

Thanks for your reply,Share Point Ninja. All the share point databases have been mirrored to the new server. On the AUS server we got both SharePoint configure databases and content databases. We even got the mirrored sharepoint website on the IIS on the new server. Can we just reuse those databases and websites in the new farm and how? ThanksDavid Chen
