Hi Guys,

I have been getting error in SMS_AD_SYSTEM_DISCOVERY_AGENT for few days continuously. It says "Active Directory System Discovery Agent Failed to bind to container ... : The username or password is incorrect". Please find the below snippet.

Can you guys please help me to fix the issue.

Yes, I am using discovery account (Service Account). Any suggestion on that to fix it.

First, have you verified that the credentials you provided for the account are live and working? I use the site server computer account instead so I don't know if the system will allow invalid credentials to be entered or not, or if it validates them automatically.

What I would do is switch over and use the computer account of the site server instead as a test. As long as no one has locked down your domain controller, all user and computer objects have read permissions to all OUs and their objects.

If switching the computer accounts works, this tells you that your service account does not have the needed permissions in Active Directory. You'll probably need "read" permissions to the Domain Controller OU.

The error message above is quite clear. You need to fix the account used or provide the proper credentials.

This is not an AD permissions issue, the account info provided is simply wrong.

I am assuming then if it was and AD permission issue the error would be different? Something stating that more specifically?

Correct. That error message is too explicit for it to be a resource access issue.
