I have a Task List that I need to count the number of items displayed on in the current view and display the total.

I thought I could do that with the Modify View > Totals section and select Count from the drop down menu, but that count is the total number of items in the entire list and not for only my filtered view. The view shows all Tasks which are not yet Completed.

In other lists, such as a custom one, the filtered view affects the total 'Count' for a given column.

Does anyone know how to make that work as expected? Any help would be great!

You are using OOTB count feature in the Task List. You notice that even if you filter the items using a particular criteria the count of the items displayed will be the count of all the items in the list.

This is an known issue, the issue can be fixed in March 15 CU.
