Acrobat reader on Android will not read PDF created in Reporting Services
Have new Galaxy 10.1 tablet with Adoby PDF reader installed. When I download a PDF created in SRS I receive the Error: The document can not be opened because it is not a valid PDF. Adobe Reader is "Reader X" Version 10.0.2 Build 40862 My PDF is readable everywhere else (to my knowledge) but not on the Galaxy using above reader. I also have a PDF created in MS Excel 2007 that works with above reader. New to .Net and aspx

Both my android phone and tablet (xoom) had quickoffice installed which works for me. http://www.quickoffice.com/ Regards, Dave Patrick .... Microsoft Certified Professional Microsoft MVP [Windows]

I have found more info... When receiving a PDF download from a website, the Galaxy truncates the download at aound 70k. My Droid cellphone will also truncate the download at about 40k. Therefore the downloaded PDF files are incomplete and unreadable. Don't know why this happens, or if there is anything I can do about it. FrankFrank Babz

More info FYI. I now know that the truncating is done in the Galaxy's brower. I have installed/used Firefox and Opera to observe that only Opera will prompt the user to accept or reject the download. Clearly, and so far, only Opera does this job properly. After accepting the download, Opera does the download and the PDF will display properly with the Adobe PDF reader (and others). Seems very wrong that any browser would truncate a download and not advise having done so. Weird design! I'm amazed. Another issue for another time.... none of these browsers properly display a web site's use of the asp:menu control. Maybe net framework 4 will sove this.... Frank Babz
