Accidentally deleted Transaction Log for MOSS
My colleague deleted LDF file (transaction log file) for one of the content database for MOSS, and after that, I cannot access the content database by any means. If I try to access through SQL Server Management Studio, I get the following error. TITLE: Connect to Server ------------------------------ Cannot connect to SWMOSS\MICROSOFT##SSEE. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: -1) For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=-1&LinkId=20476 ------------------------------ BUTTONS: OK ------------------------------ How can I gain access to the content database again? or get transaction log regenerated somehow? Thank you for your help. Clark

I'd post this question to a SQL DB forum. I think that someone there is likely to have a better idea on what that would mean. Dumb question, but did you try to restore from the recycle bin at the o/s level?--Paul Galvin, Computer Generated Solutions (CGS) Microsoft MVP - SharePoint Blogging @ http://www.mstechblogs.com/paul Twitter @ http://www.twitter.com/pagalvin

Yes, I did try, but this file was too big. This transaction log file was over 110GB, and C:/ drive is 149GB. Clark
