Accessing display templates in a SharePoint online environment via SharePoint Designer?

Not able to design files in SharePoint Designer 2013 regarding SharePoint online trial version. Trying to create custom display templates but design folders in masterpage gallery is empty. I am going to make a copy of one display template and then customize it.

Tried cleraing webSite cache and ProxyAssemblyCache, updating SPD2013 with patch from december 2013 as recommended in some posts. I am global admin of the trial SharePoint online as well as owner for all my different site collcetions. I can browse files in browser but not interact with them.

How can I make files visible so I can interact with them?

What permissions have you got on the site collection that you're trying to interact with?

Hi,

First map the design related files from SPO to your local machine and try to open files.

Hi Murugusa,

Its the mapping that doesnt work. In your link to tutorial it only describes if your working with Windows server 2012 where you are able to select roles and features of your server. Since Im on office365 and not on a server. Do you mean I can enable desktop expierence on a client (pc with windows 7)? I am not admin of the corproate domain on which my PC client is connected to so I dont have credential to enable this desktop expiernce by myself. Is there any other way to enable access to designer files?

Thank you for helping!
