Access is denied to parent site (home page) but not the sub sites
We have an install of Sharepoint we use for our intranet that for some reason is denying access to the homepage for users eventhough the settings are the same as the subsites and for these the users all have access. Any ideas on what the cause might be, or where I can begin troubleshooting?www.blog.alexcrossley.net @ www.itofficeonline.com

Hi, You may begin to check on the parent site permission. Do you add the authenticate user in any group? Regards Jason

A little more info. Significantly; this was working yesterday and now is not, allthough all the IT dept. deny having changed anything. We have 2 AD groups, for the sake of an example, sales_users and finance_users, continuing this example it's only the sales_users that are affected. The home page displays fine for the users in the sales_users AD group. www.blog.alexcrossley.net @ www.itofficeonline.com

Solution We has a sub site called news to which the 'page library' access had been denied. This library was displayed on the home page through a Query webpart. Easy to fix once found Thanks for the attentionwww.blog.alexcrossley.net @ www.itofficeonline.com
