Access denies at Site Collection Administrators in Central Administration
Hi, I tried to open the page of Site Collection Administrators in Central Administration. But I got Access denies message although I used the farm administrator account to access the page. Please help me out if anyone knows how to tackle it. Thanks a lot for your attention and contribution of your knowledge.

If everything looks fine,I would think of rerun of Sharepoint configuration wizard to refresh the settings and correct issues like this. Do you see anything unusual in event viewer or the ULS logs??I LOVE MS..... Thanks and Regards, Kshitiz (Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.)

Hi Kshitiz, Thanks for your quick reply. As you suggested, I have re-run Sharepoint configuration wizard. There is no event error. :(

Hello, I found that farm administrator account can't access one web application. I got the "Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))" error. But I still don't know how to tackle it. :( Please share me your knowledge if you knows the solution for it. Thanks.

Hi, You can use stsadm command-line operation adduser to add a new user into farm administrators group and try again. If the issue is still there, please go to check your event viewer to see if there are some related errors. stsadm -o adduser -url http://server:12345 (your central administration site address) -userlogin domain\username (your new user name) -useremail admin@company.com (the corresponding email) -group “Farm Administrators” -username “Administrators”(the corresponding user name). here is the adduser’s related source: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262627.aspx Hope it is helpful! Thanks for your reply. But I got the same error message "Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))". :( I run the command in Administrator mode with farm administrator account.

Hi Clayton, Sorry for my late reply because I checked my threads in msdn just now. I saw all check-boxes are ticked so read is also denied. But I'm really surprised that none of our administrators did tick all these check-boxes. I've no idea till now what makes this strange symptom. Thanks again for your attention to my problem and help.
