Access denied trying to deliver reports to sharepoint library on a SSRS 2008 server on Windows 2008
I have an SSRS server running in stand-alone mode, on Windows 2008. I have enabled the Webdav service. I am trying to set up a file share subscription to save to a sharepoint library using the UNC path for that library. I can navigate to the UNC path on my server but when I run the suibscription I get a "failure writing file: Access denied" error. I am able to do this on my dev server which is running Windows 2003. Thanks

Hi TheRedHead, Based on the error message you provided, it is caused because the SSRS service account has no sufficient permission to access the sharepoint library. To solve the issue, launch Reporting Services Configuration Manager tool, and then click Service Account in the right hand pane to change the service account to one domain account who is granted proper permission in the sharepoint library. thanks, Jerry

Jerry, Thanks for your reply. I granted full access to the service account that is in use by SSRS on the sharepoint site that I was trying to save to and still receive the same error: Failure writing file [path&filename]: Access to the path [path&filename] is denied. I also granted full access to the unattended execution account used by SSRS with the same resultsKaren Lennon

Several considerations: 1) if you are in SharePoint Integrated mode, the SharePoint document library delivery extension will work better for you. 2) if your SharePoint site is not using Windows authentication, then I do not believe the File Share Delivery extension would work for you. Lukasz, We are not in Sharepoint Integrated mode so the only option would be the File Share Delivery extension. The sharepoint site uses kerberos authentication but we are able to use the file share delivery extenstion from our development server. The only difference is that it runs server 2003 and the production box runs server 2008. I'm not sure I understand what the limitation would be here?Karen Lennon
