Hi

Getting a http://myserver:9999/_layouts/AccessDenied.aspx when trying to access the User profile Service application - Compile Audiences.

I verified that the account is an administrator of the user profile service application and is also added with full permission for the service application. The account is the sharepoint setup admin and ofcourse part of the farm group (by default).

Using the Farm account i tried to remove the rights of the sharepoint setup account on the User profile service application, then add them again, same result trying to access Compile Audiences:

I then tried to access the Compile Audiences with all other SharePoint accounts, giving them first full access to the User Profile Service application. None could access Compile Services!

Any tips ?  :p

Have you configured something in your farm , which could create this issue?

The farm has been setup recently using the AutoSPinstaller, all other parts of the User Profile service seem to work without issues. (Both Userprofile SharePoint Services running on the Appserver in addition to both forefront windows services, users are synchronized to the Active Directory). I can manually use the "Manage Audiences" and compile a single audience at the time for example:-)

The "Compile Audiences" has never worked (been accessed) on this solution.

So i tried to set up the "Schedule Audience Compilation" everyday at 10am. This ran at 10 and after that I tried the "Compile Audiences" again, and what do you know!? YEs the bastard worked lol. So... when in doubt set up a schedule!
