Access Denied error when tyring to access a site
I am receiving Access Denied error whenever I am trying to Access a Site which I was able to do earlier. I am also the Primary Site Collection Administrator of the same. Have also tried with other ID's but same result. Is this problem due to any modification done on Active Directory or Content Database??Thanks in Advance

Using the Internet Explorer on SharePoint Server PC, you can try accessing the site.By the way, is this problem happening from a Client PC or on the Server PC? Have you checked with others, if they are able to login to the site without any problems? Thanks,KamleshWebsite: http://ceekam.com/blog

No I haven't and I was not able to access other pages as well.Things were working fine 2 days before, all of a sudden this happened. I guess it has to do something with Database or Active directory. Any idea?

Did you get in touch with your DBA or Active Directory administrator to check if he/she performed any changes to the environment?I am assuming that you are using Windows Active Directory authentication in your environment. Is this related to WSS or MOSS?Thanks & Regards, Kamlesh | Blog | Twitter Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Hello, The fact you are recieving a 401 error, rather then a SharePoint error suggests that its an IIS issue (which could be hiding other issues too). Can you check the directory settings for your IIS virtual server? If you right click within IIS and browse the web site, does it work fine? Is the issue occuring for just one server within your farm, or multiple?RegardsAaron

This seems to be IIS issue. I recollect such wierd situation happened when someone renamed the COMPUTERNAME in one of the environment I worked long back. Can you provide details in your Directory Security tab of your IIS Website. If possible, post the screenshots of the same. Thanks & Regards, Kamlesh | Blog | Twitter Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
