RE: Importing MP's from the Console running on the Managment Server Importing an MP will insert the entire MP into the database. It doesn't matter what machine you import the MP from, they always go into the OperationsManager database. The Configuration Service will read the MP's from the database and send the MP's down to the Agents. So, it doesn't matter from what machine you import the MP's. RE: CU3 installing into the Program Files(x86) directory I'm not sure on that one. I suggest posting a new question for that issue in the Deployment forum: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/operationsmanagerdeployment/threads Michael Pearson OpsMgr Performance Test Team http://blogs.technet.com/michaelpearson/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. I generally 99.999% use console on the MS (not RMS) Although i should install Console somehwre else which i will do. However i have some doubts . When i run the console on MS, it connects to teh RMS as per the design as MS has no console of its own (If that is true as per what i have understood so far) Now I download the MP's from the console on MS and Import it there. So all my .MP files live physically on the MS and Not RMS also the install of MP is doneon MS if i choose to download the MP manuall and not use the console. How is My RMS coming to know about the existence of the newly imported files and does it matter if at all , should i make sure to import install on RMS rather than on MS. Also a strange thing that i see is i Downloaded CU3 and Installed it on the RMS, 2008 R2 server , 2007 SCOM R2, Strangely it got instaled on Program Files(x86) instead of Program Files as i am running x64 app on x64 OS. Thanks in advance
