A duplicate name 'Project' was found while restoring a CMP in MOSS SharePoint
Hi, while restoring a site backup (cmp generated with SP Designer) in MOSS SharePoint, I receive the following error: "A duplicate name 'Project' was found" and the restore aborts. The problem is that there are 2 site columns with the same internal name ("Project"), but with different display names, something that should never exist. Both were created by SharePoint installation since they belong to a standard feature (something like 'Fields and Content Types from Windows SharePoint Services Application Model') and nobody else here has access to SharePoint admin tools. I confirmed this while opening the cmp file and searching in manifest.xml file. Do someone has a clue what happened in my environment?

Hi, Please try to deactivate that feature in the destination site before performing the restore and ensure that all items created by the feature are removed. For details, please look into the “5) Do not activate custom features for your site collection on the destination server manually” part of following reference:http://blogs.technet.com/stefan_gossner/archive/2008/04/11/deep-dive-into-the-sharepoint-content-deployment-and-migration-api-part-6.aspx Hope it helps.Lily Wu
