I am working on protecting a virtual machine on VMWare, which has a 2TB drive attached to it and 1.5TB is used on this drive. I understand that there is limitation that we cannot protect any VMs which have drives greater than 1TB. This is a LoB system and all the data has to exist on a single drive for it to work. We are working with the LoB system vendor to understand options of splitting the data.

Meanwhile, I wanted to reach out to the community here and see if there are any workarounds for achieving protection of this VM?

Azure limits it's disk size to 1 TB and ASR don't support this configuration since Azure don't support this.  we don't have any work around for this other than as you told shrink the disk size to 1 TB.
