AD System discovery question
Hi, I am using SCCM 2007 R2 SP2 in native mode. I am using AD discovery to discover computer accounts. It is working, but some Computers are not showing up in a custom Collection based on an OU which contains the computer accounts. In this OU there are 14 computer accounts, of which 4 are showing up in the custom collection. When I look in the All Systems Collection, the missing computer accounts from my custom collection ARE listed. For the missing computers: I can Ping them, There is a valid DNS record (A and PTR) I can see that a DDR is created in the logs. The missing computers are on a different subnet, but I can ping the computers and I can acces C$, so I conclude that file print sharing is available. I am a bit lost as to what is wrong here. thanks for any suggestions.

To Kent's point above, is the System Group Discovery running after the System Discovery is finished with some added buffer to allow for the System Discovery info to be imported into the DB? Firewalls have nothing to do with discovery as the actual systems are never contacted during AD discoveries and all information is pulled from AD and name resolution.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

I am using the correct sequence in triggerring the System and group discovery. And indeed you are right. No firewalls involved here. I found out that the remote subnet was not covered in the Site Boundaries, I added the subnet now, Maybe it will show up now. I'll post the results
