AAM set Internal URL to different Public URL

I want to set an Internal URL (eg http://servername:8888) to a different Public URL (eg http://intranet). How would I go about this? Powershell or UI?

Thanks,

Scott

Hi,

If I understood correctly, you have a http://servername:8888 web application, and you want to access it through the address http://intranet, is that right?

If so, you need to:

1 - Create an entry on AAM (on central admin) http://inranet pointing to your web application

2 - create an entry on you DNS server, redirecting the requests http://intranet to your "servername" IP address
