890412 - SP doesn't find DB
hi
in SharePoint 2007 and Windows Server 2003, i can't open My Site nor Central Administration.
how can i figure out where SharePoint databases are located? i remember that i installed SQL Server 2005 for SharePoint stand-alone installation. but then, i installed SQL Server 2008 later (after installing SharePoint). maybe SP tries to find its database
in SQL 2008? maybe SQL 2005 databases got corrupted after installing SQL 2008? i've now both on the system and don't know which one does SP use.
when i tried this command:
stsadm -o backup -directory c:\backup -backupmethod full
i got the following error:
The farm is unavailable.
it seems that SP has lost its DB.
how can i figure out what has happened and how can i resolve it?
thx

omg! i mistakenly entered http://ed-058:38934/ in the address bar, while i changed the computer name to ict-02. when i entered http://ict-02:38934/ to bring up the Central Administration, i got the following error:
Cannot connect to the configuration database.
i tried to launch SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard in hope to fix the problem and reconfigure SharePoint based on the changes made. but i got the following error:
i zipped the complete log file mentioned in the error msg here:
