80244018 while searching for updates with Windows Update
I'm working on Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2, polish version. Lately I've noticed that I'm failing to update system in my Windows Update. I was unable to update my Windows Defender's definitions. I was meeting an error and Help info suggested me to celar the folders of temporary files. I did exacly as it was written there. But it didn't work. instead, now I'm unable even to check up updates, because when I order to do so, error 80244018 appears. Few days ago everything was ok. I even tried to "return system" (I don't know how it is in english -the option of system that is returning it to previosuly written state) -with no help, cause the oldest return point Ihad was 2 days ago -and still, the problem occured. And by the way - I don't know how and way (I've noticed it after some time, and other people were using my computer) my default Program Files catalog changed fromsystem disck c: to disc d:,I mean, every time I install sth which installs to Program Files, it want to install it on d: How to change it back to c:?
