404 Page Not Found Error When Trying to Create a Site From a Custom Site Template
Ijust moved a site collection from a one server to another, and now I can't make copies of my sites using custom site templates. The details of my site structure are in the next paragraph, in case they are relevant. On the original server,I created custom templates for my sites, and checked the Include Content checkboxwhen creating the templates. Everything works perfectly on that server. WhenI moved the whole site collection to anotherserver using stsadm backup/restore everything was there, including my customized web parts. But now I can't create new sites fromtemplates - and I'm I'm not trying to use templates created on the original server. I'm creating new templates on the newserver. It successfully creates the templates, but when I try to create a new site from one of those templates, I get a "HTTP 404 Page Not Found" page. It succeeds in creating the new site, and the new site shows up in my navigation bar,but when I click on the new site, I get a "404 Page Not Found" page.*********Details*************On the original server, I created one top level site for my whole department. Under that, I have one subsite for each of ourexternal clients. Under each of those,I have one subsite for each project for that client.I used a Team site as my startingpoint at each of the 3 levels and created a bunch of Doc Libraries, Task Lists etc. at each level - some have custom columns, Lookup columns, and customized web parts.I want to be able to clone the bottom 2 levels(client site and project site) soI don't have to create all the lists, libraries etc, each time we start a new project or start dealing with a new client.*********Details*************I've seen other people post this same problem, and it doesn't look like anyone has ever posted an answer. Has anyone ever seen this problem? I'm afraid to put this site into Production without having the ability to create templates. I guess I can resort to creatingtemplates of the individual lists and Doc libraries, but that's going to be painful.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.
