32 bit SSIS on Windows 64 bit machine
I have a requirement to install 32 bit SSIS runtime as well as 64-bit SSIS on windows 2003 64 bit machine. I did the following:- 1. Installed Sql Server Named Instance along with integration services for 64 bit plus sp4. 2. I tried installing only integration services from setup.exe for Sql Server 2005 x86 but it did not allow me. How can i install the runtimes of SSIS 32 bit now?

Hmmm ,have not tried it, but why do you really need it for? Just running packages that use JET driver such as EXCEL?Best Regards, Uri Dimant SQL Server MVP http://dimantdatabasesolutions.blogspot.com/ http://sqlblog.com/blogs/uri_dimant/

I strongly suggest you to read this great article from Todd about 64bit-32bit in SSIS: http://toddmcdermid.blogspot.com/2009/10/quick-reference-ssis-in-32-and-64-bits.htmlhttp://www.rad.pasfu.com

Thanks for your reply. I will read the article. I just found that I got all the runtime binaries in path D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server (x86)\90\DTS\Binn when I installed integration services using 64 bit setup.exe of sql server. Does it mean that it even creates runtime for 32-bit SSIS?

So you're ready to go!MCTS, MCITP - Please mark posts as answered where appropriate.

Thanks alot. How about 64 bit SSIS. I can only see one exe DTSRun.exe which is of 32 bit. Can 32 bit and 64 bit DTSRun.exe co-exists and how can I get 64- bit DTSRun.exe?

when you install 64bit, the default DTEXEC will run 64bit version of DTEXEC, but you can also find it in this address: <drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Binn this is also good article to read about 64bit considerations in SSIS: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141766.aspxhttp://www.rad.pasfu.com
