2007 Secondary Site upgrade questions

Hi all, I have a number of 2007 Secondary site server, which only have the Distribution Point role and PXE Service Point roles installed. I keep reading that you can only upgrade a 2007 site system server hosting a DP to a 2012 DP if the DP role is the only role present, yet all of the documentation also mentions that secondary sites can be upgraded, with no mention of other roles being an issue. So my questions are;

  1. Do I need to remove the PXE Service Point role from a 2007 secondary site manually, before I attempt the automatic upgrade process?
  2. Do I leave the WDS configuration on the secondary site as is? Or should that be removed as well?
    (I intend to make the new 2012 DP PXE enabled)
  3. When should I upgrade the SCCM client on the secondary site? Before or After the upgrade to a 2012 DP?
    I experienced issues when installing my 2012 site servers if they had the 2007 client installed, so I'm assuming that the 2007 client will need to be removed from the secondary site prior to the upgrade.

The documentation really doesn't mention any of the above. So any "real world" experience would be great to hear.

Thanks.

Hi,

You need to remove the PXE Service Point role from a 2007 secondary site manually.
