I am trying to install OracleXe 10g for my windows 8 computer. I have already downloaded it once before but couldnt connect to a sql server so I thought to uninstall and reinstall it. This lead to a huge headache and after 5 hours I am hoping to get an answer. It installation stalls and times out saying 1628 Failure to complete installation. I tried to do this in safe mode and got 1607 failure to complete installation. I also tried all the 5 methods that Microsoft mentioned with no luck.
