10130 - Randomly stuck at login screen with local user with no password

Probably 3/4 of the time I'm experiencing this issue where Windows will get stuck at the login scree/image with no input from mouse or keyboard.

Is this a known issue? Rebooting eventually gets it to instead show the brief logging in screen then to desktop where everything is working fine but this is not reliable.

Hi Allister,

1) Which Build are you using? Build 10130 or older build?
2) How did you install Windows 10?  "Clean install" or "upgrade" from other Windows?
3) You mentioned "Randomly", but before getting stuck, are there common actions you've taken?
4) What is your machine?  Manufacturer, model?
Please inform us the further detail.

Regards,

Probably 3/4 of the time I'm experiencing this issue where Windows will get stuck at the login scree/image with no input from mouse or keyboard.

Please clarify ............ " ... with no input from mouse or keyboard ".
Do you mean the mouse and keyboard do not work ?
Or do you mean there is no box to input the password ?
If you meant " no box to input password ", will it help if you press Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys together ?

If that does not help, did you install build 10130 via Windows Update ?
If yes, would you care to reinstall by using the ISO and do a Clean Install ?

I suggested clean install because it is possible that you have certain settings that are not "agreeable" with build 10130. Clean Install will not carry over unwanted baggage from previous build or operating system.

Build 10130 Pro version ISO download :
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso-update-1504

Burn the ISO to a bootable DVD or USB of at least 4 GB and use it to do a clean install.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool

Note : I gave you the Windows USB.DVD download tool because of its simplicity.
There are other programs which will do the same job. If you have one already, by all means, use your own program to burn the ISO.

I am experiencing this problem too.

I am using build 10130 as well. I got this build version by Windows Update. I upgraded from the previous Win10 slow build - I do not remember the build number - that was a clean install.

Usualy this get stuck when I lock my PC for a while and, when I return, I press the space bar to go to login screen. Then the lock screen picture goes up, the password prompt is blinking, but nothing else response to mouse nor keyboard. The mouse cursor still moving, but nothing happens when clicking anywhere.

I have a Toshiba L505 Core i3 - 1st generation.

Same build still after re install from ISO same issues with local account no password.

Have domain joined this PC now but never shows the login screen, still logs on with the local user despite being domain joined... If I log off it gets stuck with no input at the login screen.

No input means NO INPUT. As in nothing you click or type does nothing, as if the PC is not detecting your input. Just the screen with the clock and nothing else, no password field, no prompts, no ctrl+alt+del... No Input...

I hope updating to latest build fixes this BS...

Hi Allister,

New build Windows 10 10162 released yesterday. You could choose upgrade either via the Windows Update or ISO file.
