.NET Runtime 2.0 Error 1000 Faulting owstimer.exe
Hi - Farm has 2 web front ends, 1 index, 1 search server. About a week ago started getting error listed below. Timer shuts off, does not come back on and as such, no timer activities are completed. Have to manually restart timer. Have tried a "clean boot" as suggested on another thread with no luck. Cannot find anything in the logs that is helpful as to what is happening.Currently have .NETFramework 2.0 SP1 installed as well as .NET Framework 3.0 and 3.0 SP1 installedAny suggestions? Should a reinstall of the .NET Framework help at all? Am hesiatant to do that without seeing if anyone else out there did that with success yet. Here's the error received in the Event Logs:Source: .NET Runtime 2.0 Error Category: None Event ID: 1000Type: Error User: N/ADescription: Faulting application owstimer.exe, version 12.0.6211.1000, stamp 46d085ee, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.2919, stamp 4626487f, debug? 0, fault address 0x00015e02.Thanks to anyone who can provide any assistance.

Sure - the farm is on VM Ware. MOSS 2007 SP1 with the French Language Pack installed. The servers are Windows 2003 SP1 with a huge number of updates installed both security and regular updates. No Hotfixes that I can see. I'm not the Server Admin, just do the SharePoint side of it. The servers were built in the fall and SharePoint installed fresh. The .NET 3.0 has a hotfix KB932471, but as mentioned abovethere is also 3.0 SP1 installed. There are not any other details to the event other than the error listed above. There aren't any other failures occuring around the same time. For group policy and active directory - not 100% sure, and the person responsible is out currently. But I do not belive there were any changes. The Frequency is it happens a few times each day, some more than others, and not at a regular interval. It is random in every way except that it has been occuring each day. Here's what was most recenly logged in the SharePoint logs on the Search server, these are events that happened about a minute before the error occured. Nothing is loggedat the exact time of the error, the error occurs about 40 seconds after the last thing listed here. Thanks! Hello, According to your description of the error message, OWSTIMER.EXE is the process for sharepoint timer service. So, I suggest you to check the service account and try to give it administrator right of sharepoint timer service. Then you need to restart this service and monitor again. If the issue still exist, you can try to Re-ran the PSConfig Wizard for sharepoint. Regards, JerryXing-Bing Yu
