The package 'Configuration Manager Client Upgrade Package' (CAS00002 is the package ID) has successfully distributed from my central administration site to my primary site server, however it will not distribute to any of my distribution points.  I have approximately 50 other packages that have distributed just fine and show 100% compliance in Content Status.

The content status error description reads like so all nine of the failed distribution point servers.

IUSR -- Allow - Read

LOCAL SERVER -- Allow - Read
Administrators (PRIMARYSERVER\Administrators) -- Allow - Full control, Modify, Read & Execute, List folder contents, Read, Write

On all of the distribution points in the smsdpprov.log there is one hint of the string "CAS00002" to be found.

Also I can assure you that there is pleny of free disk space on all servers involved, no system has less than 10GBs of free disk space on any partition.

Anybody have thoughts on this?  Are there additioinal rocks I can be looking under for clues?  disk

Sorry Torsten I should have posted it in my original message that I had already tried the powershell command to update the package.  As you can see from the date/time stamp inside the PkgXferMgr.log in the original post it is currently still trying to distribute this package but it is failing; that same grouping of error messages seems to occur hourly and I simply posted only one run through of the issue.  Also it is seems to be seeing the package size as 0KBs, which really does seem to indicate a permissions issue in my opinion but I'm not sure where else to look besides the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\ClientUpgrade folder.

The package has successfully been distributed from the central administration server to the primary site server, the issue appears to be strictly somewhere between the primary site server and the distribution points.  And as the smsdpprov.log on each of the distribution point don't even show a hint of this package--yet all the others are there--it really looks like, to me anyway, that the problem is strictly on the primary site server.

Update: I've also noticed that in WMI in the SMS_Package class there is no Instance for the Configuration Manager Client Upgrade Package but I don't think that this is an issue as this seem to be typical.  If this is the case would the RefreshNow method being used in Tosten's post do anything f

I was able to work around this, in theory anyway, in a lab environment.  I removed the Distribution Point role from the primary site server and added it back.  In doing that the Configuration Manager Client Package the Configuraiton Manager Client Upgrade Package were both sent from the central administraiton server to the primary site server's distribution point role.  May try this fix in production if another team member agrees with me on giving it a go, if this happens I'll report back.

Our issue was due to corrupted permissions on the ClientUpgrade folder. I had to add my account to the local administrators group (which was the owner of the folder), and log back on and was then able to add the SCCM process account- Full permissions, local system account- full permissions and Authenticated Users - Read only. The package started distributing successfully then. I've no idea if these are the correct permissions but since the only existing permissions there were the local administrators group, there wasn't much I could break by adding permissions.
