"Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you"

Ok, this is driving me nuts. I've just installed SharePoint 2013 on a Server 2008 R2 SP1 development virtual machine, and have only had issues. I've seemed to have solved most of them, but the latest one is a "Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you" error message when visiting the main site collection.

I've recreated the site collection many teams using different templates, I've changed authentication methods in IIS, and I've added various users as site collection admins which I've proceeded to log in as, but none of these seem to have any effect on giving me access to the default site collection.

I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Anyone have any advise? My issue is similar to that mentioned in this topic, but what worked for him isn't working for me, which makes me believe the cause of my problems may be a little different.

Thanks

Yes, I even linked to one of your suggested threads in my original post. I've been searching the web for close to an hour. The second link isn't relevant as I can't access the site collection even as a site administrator, let alone as an ordinary user.

We are having the same issues with an Enterprise Search Site Collection and a Publishing Site Collection. Our engineer eventually just deleted all the web apps (it was a test environment) and recreated everything. Seems to work now :S

We also cannot access Tag profile pages. We get the same error.

Hi,

Have you tried adding your username to the WebApp UserPolicy? On the CA go to > Manage Web Applications, highlight the WebApp > Click on UserPolicy, on the ribbon > Click Add Users > Click Next > Enter Your UserName > Click Full Control > and Click Finish.

Anyone found the fix?  I have the same issue.

I had the same issue. Using Central Admin I confirmed that the account had full control in the user policy. I went a step further and added the account as a site administrator. No luck though, I was still receiving, "Sorry this site hasn't been shared with you."

I ended up deleting the web application, but did not delete the content database. I re-created the web application and made sure I connected to the same database. I recreated the user policy and was able to access the site collection. All the data and permissions were still intact.

This must be some kind of bug and I'm sure eventually there will be a better fix.

I had the same problem, after I installed update (april) for sharepoint 2013 I've had this problem.

but the problem was because I didn't run product and configuration wizard, When I run that then It was fine.
Just run configuration wizard and try again.

What worked for me is to add my user account to "Shared With" of the CA Virtual Dircetory of IIS (on the Hard Drive under inetpub\wwwroot\wss)

Since this is IIS login issue, I have changed the pass-through setting to specific application pool user.

IIs->web application and then advanced settings->physical path credentials and I set the same user as application pool (in my case farm admin since this is test environment). make sure that user have access to the virtual directory.
