"Could not find installable ISAM"
Hi, when l use the ADO.NET with the following query, SELECT * INTO XLImport5 FROM OPENROWSET('Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0', 'Excel 8.0;Database=C:\test\xltest.xls', 'SELECT * FROM [Customers$]')i get the following error, i.e.Error: 0xC002F210 at Execute SQL Task, Execute SQL Task: Executing the query "SELECT * INTO XLImport5 FROM OPENROWSET('Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0','Excel 8.0;Database=C:\test\xltest.xls', 'SELECT * FROM [Customers$]')" failed with the following error: "Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" for linked server "(null)".OLE DB provider "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" for linked server "(null)" returned message "Could not find installable ISAM.".". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.Task failed: Execute SQL TaskAny idea, what's wrong?Regards,YB Lim

Hi All, I have to Open Excel by Using T-SQL: I used Below queries: select * FROM OPENROWSET( 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0', 'Excel 12.0;Database=C:\Test.xlsx;HDR=YES', 'SELECT * FROM [Sheet$]') This query is keep running. select * FROM OPENROWSET( 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0', 'Excel 8.0;Database=C:\Test.xls;HDR=YES', 'SELECT * FROM [Sheet $]') OR SELECT * FROM OPENROWSET('Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0', 'Excel 8.0;DATABASE=C:\Test.xls', 'Select * from FROM [Sheet$]') This query is giving below error: Msg 7399, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The OLE DB provider "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" for linked server "(null)" reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error. Msg 7303, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" for linked server "(null)". Hi Lim This error message can occur if you have invalid information in the registry, or if you have a missing or a corrupted dynamic-link library (.dll) file. But, why don't you try to use a Linkedserver as: EXEC sp_addlinkedserver 'ImportData', 'Jet 4.0', 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0', 'C:\test\xltest.xls', NULL, 'Excel 8.0' Go use yourdatabasename go Insert into dbo.XLIMPORT5 Select * from OPENQUERY(Importdata, Select * from [Customers$]') Cheers Please, Vote if this help solving your problem. Hi Kumar, This error message can occur if you have invalid information in the registry, or if you have a missing or a corrupted dynamic-link library (.dll) file. This shows that you're attempting to use the Jet drivers in a 64-bit system, which is not possible. Jet drivers were only available in 32-bit form. Only with Office 2010 were 64-bit drivers made available. See this article for more information. Talk to me now on
